I'm curious as to how long people have had their fish. I was remembering my old volitan today, which I kept from when I was 10 until when I was 27. Whats the best you've done?

By the way, the volitan survived solely on feeder goldfish for those 17 years, so I consider feeders the ultimate volitan healthfood :)

A blue damsel I bought when I first set up my tank lived for many years, maybe 5 or 6. It grew up to a point and then just got fat. I have kept maroon clowns and yellow tangs for 3-4 years....in fact my current maroon clown is coming up on its 3rd birthday in my care. I lost fish in the 2003 blackout that could very well have been alive today had they made it...(didn't lose any corals or other inverts though...) Eric

wow warren that sucks :( damn blackouts.

I have a 8 year old damsel that started my FOLR tank long ago.
He was the sole survivor of a group of 8 damsels. They all
perished in the blackouts also.

Had a red sea sailfin for 4 years who outgrew the tank and gave him away and he lived another two.

have a maroon clown going on 7 years, yellow tang going on 3. Royal Gramma that perished in the heat in June was about 5 years old...

managed to keep everything alive during the blackouts by setting an egg-timer and pulling out a pitcher full of water, dumping it back in a few times every 20 minutes for about the two days we were w/o power. (was not a big deal during the day, but SUCKED during the nights!!!!!!
