Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Flatworms in their FOWLR setup. I recently acquired some LR and discovered today that they are teeming with Flatworms... the Orange/Brown variety.
There is no livestock aside from a few zoas/palys and a rock anemone on some pieces, in the 120 FOWLR (40br sump) right now. It's been setup since Monday night with 90 gallons of new SSW, and 30 gallons of established water. LR was fully cured, straight from another members tank. I'll have a skimmer in there on Monday, as well as lights. Currently, the tank gets natural sunlight during the day.
Params seem stable. No spikes.
Nitrates < 5ppm.
1.025
78 degrees
Should I blast the LR w/ a hose, treat the tank w/ FWE, and then do a water change? Or will these flatworms die off on their own without anything to munch on? Either way, if they die off in the tank, I'm going to have to do a major water change.
I'm wondering if they're harmful to fish. If they're not, I was thinking of putting in a wrasse so it'll have a natural source of food.
Thanks in advance for the help.
