My one spot foxface continues to have this mottled black white color. He occassionally will show some yellow but not for long. What can I do to make him happy? He is eating (loves seaweed) and none of the other tank mates bother him.

Please help.

So, do you mean that it is continously showing its stress color pattern? Does it have enough places to get out of sight if it wants? I've seen some of these fish just not adapt well to people moving around the room, could you try observing the fish from a dark room (so it can't see you) but with the tank lights on, to see if the color reverts to normal? This is also a good way to double check that there isn't some other fish harassing it when you aren't around.

He definitely freaks out when I come near the tank. He has a cave that he hides out in and also under the umbrella of a leather coral. He's been in the tank for about 3 1/2 weeks now and the stress seems to be getting worse. There are 2 scissortail damsels in the tank that swim like lightening struck but don't try to touch him. Maybe their constant fast movement is too much for him.
