I have some that is in my main tank and im afraid i am going to have to get all the fish in a QT. RIght now all i have is a 10gallon QT but not gonna be sufficient for my fish (hippo, clown tang, maroon clown, algae blenny, cleaner wrasse) and there is already a royal gramma and a purple tang being treated.

My plan is to set up an old 55 i have using have water from main tank and hook up an overflow sump system with no charcoal, a power headand a heater, and a air stine for 6 weeks and leave tank empty with just two cleaner shrimp, crabs and corals.

Should I put a skimmer on it?

Should I do water changed? How regularly?

Will this be too much stock and WHAT SHOULD I DO

Im strresssssssssed out and need any advice possible, the out break is minimal but keeps showing its ugle face

THANKS

If you have one it wouldn't hurt to use it.

I would do weekly water changes, try not to over feed the fish. Also if you're going to have that many fish in a tank for 6 weeks I would get Nitrex, or one of the bacteria type products. They'll help if you have an ammonia or nitrite spike.

You're going to have quite a bit of fish in that tank, I suggest you may want to split in up into two tanks. You could probably get a 50gal Rubbermaid container and split the fish between the two.

By doing what you're going to do it will hopefully get rid of the ich. So you may lose a fish during the process it's something that you should do otherwise it will keep coming back.

Don't forget to treat the fish in the holding tank. If you're 100% sure it's ich, than try Hyposaltity. If you're not sure than use copper. If you're going to use copper make sure you get a good copper test kit because if you treat at the wrong level it wouldn't work.
