hey, recently my kole tang died, he was always very active for the last couple of months. he always ate ferocious amounts of algae and food during feeding time...then all of a sudden he stopped and kind of started to hide out...i then noticed it seemed like skin was peeling off of him and faded out very different than i have ever seen him do. then 2 days later started to turn side ways and eventually died overnight.

now my clown fish, along with my clown tang is doing the same thing, wont eat, and seems to have a little bit of "skin" peeling off and hanging off on there fins...

does anyone know what this is? please help me

Do you have any pics? It would definitely help in the diagnosis.

Also, though I am not an expert in fish disease and have no idea what it is they might have, I think I'd still quarantine them if you haven't already - especially since it seems like it's contagious and have already killed one fish.

I also am no fish expert but did you check your water parameters. If something is wrong it will affect everything in the tank. I also would quarantine the fish if at all possible.

i agree with marrone, clownfish disease.im not sure if copper would work at a late stage, but if you try that make sure you setup a seperate tank (qt) and treat there not directly in you display, because copper will kill all inverts.

When you want help your best bet is to give as much info as possible.
1. When tank was established.
2. Size of tank and contents, sand, rocks, ligting, coral, fish etc and how much of each.
3. Water parameters from testing.
and then your symptoms.
If you do not get help here try www.wetwebmedia.com. There is lots of info you can find searching there and you can email the problem as well. Will usually answer with a day.
