Hi, I've got a 12 gallon tank with a damsel, a purple pseudochromis, and a clown. Whenever I turn on the lights in the morning, the clown is always at the water line on its side. It looks as though it's dead at first sight, but when i turn on the lights and feed, it starts swimming around. Even when he swims for the first hour or so, he swims very slugglishly and sideways. Could this just be his "morning" behavior? All of my water parameters are in check, except for my nitrates which are a bit high, at about 30 ppm. I'm wondering if the damsel or the pseudochromis are beating the clown to death? Thanks for the help

i have a pair of clowns in a 12 gallon and they have done this for the past 2 yrs. its normal behavior. i'd keep an eye out on your nitrates though. 3 fish like that in a 12 gallon is a lot
