Sick Fish

Hello all,
Powder blue tang whith red looking spot on one side of his body. Fish is in 20gl L quarantine tank with blond Naso and 3 buttfly fish for 2 weeks, no aggression in the tank. At first I taught it was the heater but he can?t get behind it, heater in the corner of the tank. Only treating fish witht probiotics marine formul for the past 2 weeks. . No breathing problem and all eating and swimming well. All was good until last night, please help ID infection and what to treat it with.

It does look like a burn mark. what are the parameters of the tank?

I would say burn mark also or a real bad bacterial infection. I would dose furan-2 or if you can?t find that general cure by api

Don? t think it?s a burnt, will change bulb and get better pic tomorrow.
I was wondering if it could be Uronema Marinum.

Can you check the ammonia level?

What does probiotics treat?

Looks like bacterial infection or an open wound.

If fish acting okay and eating don?t panic it will heal. If it gets worst then you have to treat with anti bacterial or fungal medication. But make sure you can mix with the probiotics.

If fish acting okay and eating don?t panic it will heal. If it gets worst then you have to treat with anti bacterial or fungal medication. But make sure you can mix with the probiotics.

Kanaplex did come to mind but is it safe to use with Furan 2?

Hmm disease prevention, not sure how it would stop ich, flukes or marine velvet?

A lot of the time these products are just snake oil but I hope it works.

Make sure to watch ammonia, it?s slowly creeping up.

Yes it is.
Some will use Kanaplex, Furan-2 along with Metro combined to attack bacterial and fungal symptoms.

You should get your ammonia down before treating IMO.

Your right about prevention care only. Will keep an eye on ammonia and after bacterial treatment I will use PraziPro.

Will do 25% water change and start treatment with furan-2. I had to order kanaplex.

A week later after 2 treatment infection almost completely heal. Should I give a 3rd treatment until scare dissappear completely or he?ll be fine?

What do the instructions say on the medication that you're using? I would follow them, especially since the wound/infection isn't completely healed.
