I have been contemplating doing this for a while and when I saw the other thread and found out it had already been done and that it was good for algea and since I've been having an algea and cyano problem as of late even though my Tank is over a year old I started this project:
I installed a canister filter (I had laying around)I'm running Chemipure and some stuff called phos-zorb through it.
I did a major water change-about 40% and got theese three mollies.

The Mollies took about 3.5 hours to acclimate. When just released one did start eating algea but that was about it.haven't touched it since.
Will keep you posted.

I think mine are being intimidated by my maroon clown. When I first put them in the kudrens cardinal went after them I had to fend him off ,now he leaves them alone.
I do notice that they don't seem to enjoy the stream from the power heads..or it seems that way.

Okay..here is my experience:
It was nice witnessing the birth of mollies in a saltwater tank,I think (this
is my opinion)saltwater induces the birthing process.

I have yet too see them eat any hair algea (except for the first few picks at it)

2 of the three have died because of being bullied ,and the flow is a little too much for them.
So I don't think its worth it .I think that them eating algea is a hit or miss.
Thats my experience for whatever its worth.

Like I said I really don't think they are good for a reef tank. Then again this is my opinion.Someone else will try it and maybe they have a different result.
