I have a firefish that I am trying to train to eat pellets. It loves the frozen food which I am fine with but want him to eat pellets for when I go on vacation. He put one in his mouth finally, chewed it and spit it out. Not planning on going anywhere soon so have some time to train him but would feel better if he learned. Thanks, Rich

To get them nice and chunky you have to teach them that pellets = food. This usually works for me, and my fish are all nice and chunky eating pellets
Its just a matter of mixing foods and weaning over to the pellet. In the case of frozen to pellet, i would recommend defrosting the frozen in a cup with a lottle tank water. Add some garlic, selcon, and some pellet so the pellet gets to absorb some of the yummy flavor of the frozen. Also the pellet will be softer which will be easier to swallow. Theres a chance the pellet is too large for the firefish which is why its spitting it put also.
