I have two neon goby's in my tank. they are supposed to be cleaner fish, but mine do not seem to have any interest in other fish. they are happy to sit on the clam mantles all day and chase each other around the tank.

cute, I have a pair too. They chased each other for a while until they established order and now they hang out together all the time. they've been so spoiled having the whole tank to themselves. They even spawned a few months back

the one i had in my seahorse tank disappeared along w/ my firefish:confused: he was funny too. he slept inside the fuge pump. there were some holes under the pump and he would go in there and sleep and when the lights would come on he would poke his little head out and then come out and greet everyone.

i wonder if he's in my overflow box or something?

My neon goby had to go because it kept sitting on my crocea and stressed it out and the clam eventually died :(

It always cleaned my wrasses, pretty cool to watch.

it took one of my clams a couple of days to get used to it's new little friend.
it spent one day all closed up, I could not figure out what was wrong till I saw the goby jump on the clam when it tried to open again.

Keep an eye on him because i thought my clam was used to the goby also. Then it eventually stopped opening up and went bye, bye.

Good luck.

I bought mine as a mated pair and they are always together. Only the smaller of the two tries to clean my spotted cardinal. The first time the cardinal frieked out and although it is 6 months later he still does not like it. I also have a gramma and a clown goby but I have not seen the goby attempt to clean them. The gobies sleep in small holes that are open from the underside of a rock. They perch just about anywhere including my mushrooms and candy cane. But since they do not have a single preference they do not cause any harm to them.
