THE PROBLEM IS THE WRASSE.....DONT GET A 6 line WRASSE IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO KEEP FRAGILE INVERTS OR WEAK FISH. the 6 line has eaten 4 sexy shrimp, 2 pistol shrimp, killed a court gester goby, and a few other fish....
I love my 6 line but hate it for all the MURDER.... Can any 1 sugest the BEst way to catch it ....(BIG ISSUE). I tried everything.... Last resort is to take all the rocks out which i am not gonna do...

MY ADVICE, ask a 100000000000 questions before buying a live animal that you have no idea about, or have doubs about its attitude.....

PLEASE HELP ME CATCH THE WRASSE........

try not to feed the tank for a few days ,then set a trap ,,but you must not feed the tank ,,,put a pc of food in the trap ,then wait only way or use a net to feed and see if it will eat out of the net after a few days of not eatting

I have a 6 line for months who is a good lawabiding fish. I have sexy shrimp, blood shrimp, cleaner shrimp and various smaller fish. I think you just got a bad attitude 6 line. btw, this was not my 1st 6 line.
solutio for you is take out the corals and rockwork, drain the tank and catch him. I found this to be the only way with a difficult fish IF you have a small system. I had to to that when i had a 110 gallon with a killer pseudochromis that attacked every fish I introduced. Hate when I get the phsyco fish.

Dude!!! You cant let a fish do that to you!!!! Its a sign of weakness. The trick is to show the 6line who is really boss. You have to back hand that fish occasionally and scream "where is ma money" :pimp: Just make sure you re wearing a hat with a feather in it.

6lines are known for being little bastards. Awesome fish tho. Vey personable. Thats what everyone falls for. If you want to add other fish you hve to let the little bugger go. Time to take apart the tank and fish him out. Little chance otherwise of getting it out. SMART as hell!!!!!

I had the same problem with my 6line, he slowly killed all my fish by picking at them, and now i can't get anything else until he dies! What a bully!

my sixline ate so much that i would just feed the tank and catch him w/ a net.

if he's no that big, you can try siphoning him out. this has worked several times for me w/ different types of fish. buy a couple feet of 1-1.5" vynil tubing and place it in the area he hangs out. feed the tank for a cuple days w/ the tubing in the tank. when you think he's no longer afraid of the tubing feed the tank and patiently wait. once he ventures close to the tubing you suck that sucker out. you must be quick.

NOT A RECOMMENDATION, but sharing my experience.

This is what I did when my six-line got aggressive in my nano, I added another fish. I added a ocellaris clown fish which, in Herman's words, back-hand slapped the six-line around for me. I made sure the clown was bigger. It worked. The six-line stopped picking at inverts and only hunted for pods. It was also a lot less aggressive towards my firefish (yes I had a firefish in the nano too) during feeding time. NOT RECOMMENDING YOU DO IT, but putting out an alternative if you want to keep the six-line.

What size tank do you have?

Use food and a net. I got one out by putting a net in the water and letting the fish get used to it. It took a little over a week. I would feed the fish on the other side of the net and slowly bring the food closer to the net. Eventually I was able to put the food right were the net was. With my left hand I put the food near the net and with the other I lifted the net up as soon as he went for the food. I caught the 6 line, lyretail anthias, tomato clown and a green chromis in one shot. lol.

By the way, I rested t he net on a piece of live rock so that it was about 3 inches under the water. I bent the handle so that it was straight for me to grab when it rested on the tank lip.

The other thing you can do, depending on the size of your other fish, is to build a trap out of a plastic bottle. You cut the top off and invert it into the bottle. Attach a line to it (to pull it out of the water) and put some food inside, or better yet a few pods. Sit and wait and maybe he will take the bait. :fight2:

Hey, that last line rhymes. lol. :smash:
