Just went to Pets Warehouse in Carl Place yesterday afternoon. I asked the sales guy for a fish that wouldn't jump out of my 12 gallon long and I walked out with a beautiful Ruby Red Dragonete Blennie. Unfortunately it was on the floor when I woke up this morning. Since I specifically asked him for a fish that wasn't a jumper, I'm a little annoyed with them but that's another issue.

Can anyone recommend an easy fish that won't jump out of a 12 gallon long?
I will probably only have 1 or 2 small fish in the tank max and would like to feed them.

I have been looking for a Pistol Shrimp Gobie pair for the past month but haven't been able to find any at the LFSs.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I am not particularly a big fan of the noted store.. However, every fish has the capability to be a jumper. The fact the fish jumped is not essentially their fault. It's hard to say with assurance that a fish will never jump.

Look into making a mesh top if you are concerned about fish carpet surfing.

I'm not going to recommend nano fish, as I've never stocked a nano.

Aquarium Village might have a pistol shrimp goby pair. I am heading in there now I will post if they are still there

2 or 3 PJ Cardinals would look nice, 1 percula or ocellaris clownfish, coral banded shrimp or cleaner shrimp, flower anemones, sexy shrimp, talbot damsel, red mini carpet

Thanks for the advice. To be clear I wasn't bashing Pets Warehouse and I intend to keep buying from them.

That being said its a small tank and didn't want to put a cover on for asthetic reasons. I have a 60 Gallon with clowns, damsels, tang, flame Angels and have never had a jumper in three years ( although to be fair it's a much deeper tank).

I guess if the consensus is that anything can jump, I'll need to get a screen.

Thanks.

A yellow clown goby will add a splash of color and a lot of personality. The same for a tail spot benny. They are also relatively small.
