I would love, love, love to get two clowns...one false perc b&w and one typical orange and white false perc. i know they are just color variations of the same species, but i also know they may not recognize each other. i've been asking opinions at two lfs and have gotten different opinions (by different employees in each store).

my plan would be to purchase two juveniles and add them at the same time.

is this doable or a recipe for disaster. my tank is a 24 gallon and i'm new to reefing.

I know a few people personally who have done this and it has worked. I have also "heard tell" of these mixed pairs actually breeding in tanks. Genetically the blacks and the oranges are the same fish it's just a color variation so there's really no reason why they shouldn't. I've been tempted to try it in the store but I don't have anymore display tanks I want to mess with right now.
