Feeding a Radiata Lionfish

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any tips on getting a radiata lionfish to eat? This is my second one in past 5 years. First one eventually starved because it just refused to eat. Trying very hard to avoid this.

I've sucessfully gotten dwarf lions and volitans to eat, but not so much luck w/the radiatas, which I believe are a bit more finicky w/foods.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try feeding it Ghost shrimps and once it starts to eat try moving it to frozen food. If the Ghost shrimps don't work try gupplies but even then you want to move it onto frozen food.

Marrone, any ideas where I can get live ghost shrimps? I use to get them at chinatown for fairly cheap, but haven't seen them around for the longest time. Thanks.

Some people have said that Petsmart carry them. I think you may want to check with Petland or Petco and see what they carry too.

Brooklyn Zoo and Aquarium ( Ralph Ave bet M and N in Brooklyn, duh ) carries them. I bought them for my mudskippers but they have avoided getting eaten and hopefully will breed in there. They cost about 3/$1.00 and cheaper as you buy more. They are tiny though. How big is the lionfish?

check out this place for the glass shrimps. I use to order brineshrimp from them and also the glass shrimp for seahorses.

Radiata is about 4".
