i have had 3 firefish (Nemateleotris magnifica) for about a year now. The three of them would swim around all day long during this time. As of about a week ago I saw one once and the rest I have not. They usually hide under one of my base rocks in my aquascape. has anyone had this problem as well. i know they are jumpers and i have a lid on my tank so they cant get out.

yes the are jumpers, but you said you have a lid you so that eliminate them from jumping out of the tank. Lets go to the next. They will hibernate some time and would come out for a month or so. I had one come out after a month or so, but the other question is. Do you have crabs or large fire or Bristol worms in your tank because if they got suck in a hole in a rock they are gone and you will never see them again cause they were eaten. It happen to me. I clean the tank once and found the body suck in a rock just bones.....that is why I do not get them for my tank any more.........try them several time but still same problem. they are beautiful fish...

I always lost firefish by jumping so now, when I buy them, to save time, I open the bag and throw them on the floor.
