Anyone ever have some of these (Apogon parvulus). Most cardinals are easy to care for but based on what I read this one seems a bit difficult.
You don't see them in stores. But you can get them on line.
This is a fish that really does need small frequent meals. They do not ship well, and starve relatively quickly if not given 5+ feedings daily, and do not forgive missing a day of feeding.
I tried groups of 5 from DD on 2 different occasions. I do feed frequently during the day and even up until midnight at times. I never had any of them last for more than about 3 months. I don't think the feedings are the problem with these fish. I wish they were hardier, I really like them.
Thanks. It doesn't sound promising but I will give it a try.
From what I read they should be ok with 3 feedings. And it could be the reason they don't ship well is because they go with long periods of not eating.
