RIP little buddy (Leopard Wrasse)

I added a new Leopard Wrasse on Sunday around 6 PM.. Saw him swimming around for a few minutes and then when i turned around it went MIA...

Guessing it dove into the sand...

Against my better judgement I decided to try and stir it out very slightly yesterday .. after about 2 minutes of trying to find it I gave up as I didnt want to disturb the sandbed too much...

Well I guess now I just sit back and wait... :/

He looked healthy and was eating mysis at my LFS..

Any suggestions on how to get him to come out of hiding? ... Worried I won't see the guy ..

Wow, beautiful fish!!

My last two wrasses all hid for between 1-3 weeks. Now I just don't even worry about it.
When they came out/when I finally saw them, they were still healthy looking and were getting along fine.

Thanks guys, I agree its a gorgous fish! Love her!

Update: just got a call from my house saying he came out!!! Apparently right now he / she is just kind of hanging out in middle / front of the tank near the sand... I dont' get home until 6!... Hope its still out by then so I can try feeding some Mysis...

I should have pods in the tank right now but just incase ordered 1000 more pods from reefs2go which should be coming in either today or tomorrow.

Hope he makes it... And as mentioned earlier, he was eating mysis at the LFS so keeping my fingers crossed.

She is a beauty! Mine did the same thing. She hid for a few days and then started coming out all the time. I started mine on live brine shrimp and Nutramar Ova.

beautiful juvi/female Macropharyngodon Meleagris...I set up a 20 gallon softy tank and raised a few babies of them recently until they were large enough for the DT...hopefully I get a pair. As mentioned mine hid for awhile and when they came out they started eating small pieces of mysis and brine..now they eat almost everything.

Ok so the leopard wrasse is out but apparently it his having trouble swimming.. Its basically laying low to the ground and leans to the side or resting on a rock sideways...

Is he giong to be alright? I won't be home until 6 to try and feed him..

Well I came home and basically saw his last momemnts of life... super depressing that I couldnt do anything but watch...

She seemed as she had some white worm or something coming out of his stomach / anus / wherever fish poop from, as he was dying...

Only had her a few days but sucks! Really was looking forward to seeing her swimming around and enjoying my tank.

My yellow flanked just appeared after 2 months. I thought it was long gone, but it's healthier than ever. My 2 leopards are always hiding but as soon as they smell food in the morning they pop right out.
