Well don't blame me for this thread. MR keeps reminding me how I haven't posted in several weeks......felt under pressure!
I have not had a saltwater tank since the early 80's. Was busy rasing a family I guess. Got hit with Hurricane Sandy and just waiting to have my downstairs rebuilt to jump in. Maybe a few nano's, maybe a single larger tank....not sure yet. Have always loved fished and always stayed in touch with the hobby via books, magazines all these years.
Like some others, in the meanwhile learning all I can recently and getting familiar with fish and corals. Like so many others love, love clowns.
I hear and then look specifically at the platinum and snowflake clowns because of the novelty, the high prices and the fascination. But they just are not pretty. I would take Nemo anyday for 12 bucks. Whatever happened to the days of enhancing colors and extending fin lengths? I feel like snowflakes are blotchy clowns and platinum extra blotchy. I deal with platinum and fashion for a living, and this is no platinum! I do not mean to diminish all the years of very, very hard work to create these novelties. I just think the hobby is in the wrong direction. I'll pay a 100 bucks for intense pretty colors, longer fins......
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Obviously I must be in the minority on this!
