I'm buying a 225 setup from JP on here!

Thinking over fish choices I love shoal tangs I always wanted one !

Can a sm shoal grow and be healthy in a 225 for long haul ? I know they have potential of getting quite big !

I would avoid it or put it in last. IMO one of the nastiest and most aggressive fish that you could add.

+1
i have sohal for 5 years, got him when he was 2" , now he is big about 6"+ and chasing all my tangs... i am not sure if he is going into my new tank..
nasty and agressive but very colorfull..

I'm planning on making him/ her the only tang!
Will fill rest of tank with smaller fish only fish I've been thinking off might be same size is a scribbled rabbit fish and regal angle will it bother other fish not same shape?

There's definitely a good chance it'll bother fish with a similar tang shape, such as some angels, copperband, etc.
The only things I see it ignore completely are things like wrasses, damsels, dartfish... basically things completely different in shape.

I have one, it mayn't be a problem when it's small but at it gets larger, and it will get larger fairly fast, it will become a problem with most of your other tangs, to the point where it will attack them until it kills them. Usually they don't become a major problem until they start to get around 8+", at which point you may need to move it if you have other tangs in the tank. They do well in tanks with aggressive fish, like Triggers, Groupers, Eels and large Angels, though even with aggressive fish like that they still will go after some of them. The thing is at smaller sizes they're not that aggressive, and will get along with other Tangs without any problems, but that does change very quickly when they get larger.
