hello fellow reefers so i finally found out who was killing my clams there were two culprits one was the bristle tail file fish and he was also eating my zoas so i got him out cause they are kinda slow and not very smart at avoiding the net but the other culprit is my flame angel he never bothered the clam before but now all of a sudden has been nipping at the mantle so he has to go rather get rid of him than loose my clam any suggestions on how to get him out

Can I see your aquascape ?

You can buy a sheet of egg crate and divide the tank into two or cover a corner(what ever its easier for you and won't make you move rocks )
Like that it will be way easier to catch it
You have to leave the crate open and feed there until he feels comfortable going in the trap then you trap it and take him out
That's what I did with mines lol

So i came up with a plan i placed the clam inside a large net and placed it all the way in the back of net so when he goes in to nip at the mantle i will scoop him out and when im not around to monitor him i just push the net up against the glass so he cant get to it while im away he wants that clam bad you can see him trying to figure out how to get him without going in but no dice he has to go in

Well just put the crate wherever you find it to be the est spot to catch him in the tank then he will go in quick 1-2 hours
Just let him to get used to it with out you terrorizing him Everytime he gets near it lol
Or a good idea would be to put the clam inside the trap

i made a box up using eggcrate and cut o hole on one side. then i tied a piece of food in the center. I can catch alot of fish using this. i also tied fishing line on the side with the hole and when the fish i want swims in i pull up and its done. takes a few hours for the fish to get use to it but works better then the soda bottle trap

So i finally caught him and the flame angel is out and did not break down the tank took a while but he finally went into the trap and couldnt get out but now the khole tang is starting to pick at the clam not the mantle so much but more so the shell guessing looking for algae or something he also began picking at my leather coral so he may be next to leave and he's too big to avoid the net so he would be a slightly easier catch
