Hello,
My friend tore down his marine tank and gave me this fish. Can anyone help me identify it?

Thanks,
Ed:wink1:

Thanks

Yes, thanks everyone. It is a yellow banded possum wrasse. I read up on it and it is supposed to be a carnivore that prefers mysis and brine shrimp but mine doesn't seem care for either. He looks fairly healthy but all he does is pick stuff off the live rock. He doesn't eat the flakes, pellets or other frozen food that I feed my other fish. Any ideas?

Killer fish you have recieved. As far as not eating what you are feeding dont worry. Just watch his belly is always full because he is picking off all the rocks as you have stated. Also, try feeding a smaller food like a reef coral/invert frozen food & you will see him/her gobble that stuff up. May be even thawed & vitamin treated krill roe is great. :eat:

enjoy that little guy.

Congratulations on your new Yellow Band Possum Wrasse!!!!
I love this little guy, great addition to any tank!!
He will eat eventually! Very hardy little fish. You won't see him much in the beginning, but eventually he will be out more often. Had one for years until stupid "Sandy".. Mine ate what ever I threw in the tank.;)
