Black Scopas hybrid. Most of the hybrids aren't common, but last week was the first time I have seen these show up at any suppliers. The hybrids tend to come in waves where you might see these for a few weeks popping up at a few places before they disappear for a long time.

look up david saxbys tank videos and look at his tellow/black/white tangs. not sure if they are hybrids or just deformity's in the fish that resulted in that color combination, jared might be able to answer that one but they are cool anyway

Aquatic Obsessions gets about 5-6 in a year. They are less $$$ than a true Black Tang. I bought my Black Tang for 550 and it was the size of a quarter. The Hybrids were selling for 250-350 depending on the size.

LA Diver Den had one or two a number of months ago. Also, the place near where I work had one about 3 or 4 months ago. Much nicer looking than a Black Tang, as it doesn't have the long nose which the Black Tangs develop over time. It also seems to keep a better color pattern than the Sopas Tang as it's get larger.

I'm sure the seller told your this...but fish do not come with pedigrees, never mind a guarantee of where it was caught....and if your fish is a hybrid...it's more like 1/2 Longnose surgeonfish (Zebrasoma rostratum)

If you like it, it's 'worth' it!
