Adding More Clown...

I have two small false clowns (0ne black) in my 20 gallon tank right now that I bought 1.5 weeks ago, along with their tank mate (blue tang).

My friend is offering to give me his larger false clown as a going away present.

Would it be a bad idea to add in a large clown with these little guys, even if they are established first?

Would really appreciate some input. The tank has been running for 3 months.

Probably not but u might have to get rid of that tang eventually.

Oh wait misread post didn't see u had two already in there. One will most likely die as the two are already in there. Doubt u will get away with 3 in such a small tank.

I wouldnt put any larger clown in a tank with smaller ones- disaster over dominance will most likely follow--The larger one is most likely a female, bad news.

Plus if the 2 are paired they'll gang up possibly on the new one, especially the female of that pair.

i have mulitiple clowns all different size in the same tank try it and see u might get lucky and everyone get along if not take it out the bad apple

Thanks guys! That is what I suspected. Although, i have noticed that my two clowns are probably not paired. They came from different tanks and are different colors which might be the reason they fought at first and now don't swim together that often. I was thinking the new clown might unite the group somehow. But yea, it's a small tank so I think I'll pass on the new clown.

i got 8 clowns two set def pair off and 4 loner sometimes the two pair chill together and there four of them hosting something duncan anenome ect the other 4 just do there own stuff there no war between any of them i mean i do have a 150 i dont know what ur tank is like but multiple clown can def work i did it also when i had the 65g

I do actually. That's why I enlarged it and made it stand out, so anyone that does view from a phone will know this is all in a 20 gallon.

If you do that 1 will die out of the 3, I have several clowns in a tank but I introduce them all at ones when they were just juvis ,when u do that that stunts the other clowns growth for whatever reason 1 pair will grow big n the other don't grow more then 2" n below ,
