purple firefish

Curious , how long do they live ?

Mines passed away after almost 2 years...it been hid in the rock but only coming out for food...

Im not sure why it pssed away.

I inspected for ick etc and no sign of it...

I only have 5 fishes, braggi, 2 clowns and yellow goby and purple firefish (died)

Was the fact that he was spending more time hiding in the rock a new thing?

Any chance another fish was picking on him?

One would expect a firefish to live longer than 2 years, so something was wrong there, could have even been something internal in the fish itself.

my helfrichi is behaving weird too. he was usually swimming around. but last week he went missing. i thought it died because i haven't seen him in a while. i was looking in between rocks and on the floor. but 2 days ago i saw him hiding between a rock, still alive. found it strange for him to change his behavior. his tankmates are a mystery wrasse and clownfish.

I have seen braggi chased purple few times. Purple always run to hide..

Ok, i would like to add fish.. Yellow coris or mcockers?

I want fish that eat pest

y get a fish that eats pests? just get rid of the pests and get a nice fish. lol

mcockers not reccomended for biocube, if you want a wrasse, go with a six line.....which by the way eats pests..lol

haha.. i used to have 6 lines but it was BULLY!!!! I had to get rid of it.

Maybe i can buy baby 6 lines so it can respect other fishes, no ? what do you think, guys/gals???

If he is the last one in he should be ok. I had one in my 24 gallon. But you lose a lot of creepy crawlers and I like diversity in my tank so I got rid of him.

I bought my six lines when it was small, 1" (i think)doesn't bother anybody.

they can live for decades. most deaths are due to carpet surfing.

Is it possible that it was just an old specimen and it was simply his time or was it a Juvie when u got it?

When i bought it it was about 2"- im guess it should be approx 3.5 yrs?
