Genicanthus Semifasciatus!!!

Well after years of dreaming of adding these amazing fish I have been lucky enough to finally acquire this spectacular pair. They have been eating everything and are doing great as they relax and get acclimated in my propagation system.

Japanese Swallow Tail and AO was selling them as Tiger Angels. Probably, from what Darren said there are only about 6 (I think that's what he said) in the country and a pair is even harder to find. Between 8-9"

^+1 on what Howze said. They are the true japanese swallowtail. The pair was $600 and as far as i know there are more available from AQOB...

The male is about 6" and will probably get slightly larger, the female is about 3"...

And my fish which is about 3" and a juvi which probably hasn't develop it's adult coloration is fake....OK

The fish in question is Genicanthus semifasciatus--The Japanese Swallowtail

Your fish is the much more common (still a nice fish) Genicanthus melanospilos--The Blackspot angelfish often incorrectly sold as the Japanese swallowtail.

Its a different fish and the coloration on yours is the adult coloration.

No need to have an attitude about it. Just trying educate you about the differences.
