Protein Skimmer Question for 180 gal upgrade

I am upgrading my 90 gallon tank to a 180 gallon with a 45 gallon sump mixed reef and fish. What protein skimmer would folks recommend? Based on the skimmer thread I am leaning towards a reef octopus, but dont know if its better to just get one rated for 180 gallons or go to the next size up? This is my first big tank and want to be sure I get the right skimmer from the start.

I have a reef octopus hurricone cat-2 internal slimmer on my 180 and LOVE it!

In 1 week I get about 2 gallons of thick nasty skimmate after the break-in period.
