Has anyone used any of the Sicce Syncra pumps? As luck would have it after posting in the "Best return pump" thread yesterday my Quiteone 4000 crapped out after a year and a half. I was considering getting the model 4 over the eheim 1262. Here is a link to the spec sheet, what do you guys think?

I would say talk to Rick NYreefnoob..he mentioned something about upgrading his skimmer pumps to those in his skimmer collection thread. I'm not sure the models or anything I have never used them personally, but heard they are pretty good.

they seem to have recieved alot of good reviews but pending which one you go with there are a few that use alot less power, the bubble blaster series will more then likely be my next return pump. btw if you do a search on quiet one pumps alot of negitive stuff said on them, between pump failure and the casing cracking. if $ isnt a issue look into the tunze return pumps as well

You beat me to it, I was going to reach out to you. I hear what your saying, there was no warning what so ever it just crapped out. I like the bubble blaster on my SRO I guess the water blaster would be just as good. Money is always a consideration and I will spend the money (within reason) to get a new quality pump. I'm going to go checkout the head pressure curve on the water blaster and tunze.

Thanks for the info

The Water Blaster looks like a really nice pump, low power consumption with pretty good head performance. I'm looking at the HY5000w, 1300gph @ 0', 768gph @ 6.4' and 566 @ 7.5' drawing 60 watts with a 3yr warranty. This seems like the way I'm going to go the only problem is I have to re-plumb my return as it is only 3/4", not really a big deal. If I go bigger I can build a header to run my other equipment off of 1 pump and get rid of the others, something to chew on.

Did you take a look at the thread on RC about the WB7000, he ended with a 5000.

Yes I did, That thread and having the SRO XP2000 cone with the BB2000 makes me a believer and sealed the deal. I ordered the 5000.

Alex and Nood, thanks for the idea.
