I've always looked to simplfy the hobby and not worried about sharing it with others either.. I finally found something that will automate my ro top off, turn ro off/on, using the same controller that turns the lights off.. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg either... Stay tuned folks :tongue1:

Yes it's 1/4" solenoid but no float switch.. I plan on using mutiple solenoids, one at the faucet to ro unit, one at the end of ro unit also..
I've been looking for this for years and you already knew of these solenoids and kept a secret.. I'm actaully speaking with a guy from California about these now..
Here is a picture of a possible diagram..

I will be using it for dripping ro drinking water through the enclosure for my Chameleon, top off for my fogger and top off of my tank in the future...
Solenoid valve, fittings, power supply for around $40 plug and play(if you have a controller already)...

This is a picture that I saw and thought it would be a good idea for a plan I had been thinking about for a while..
That picture is for a misting system (reptile set ups)not a reef set up, I figured someone would be able see past the spaceship and build form it..
Someone mentioned late to the party again,,lol never late I didn't even see this solenoid searching ebay...

Also,, people,,, calm down,,, I still haven't seen corals with colors as good as,,,,You know the rest,,,,, Just trying to help the community out..

Tobin, step back from your machine, take 3 deep breaths. We are friends here. No one needs you to destroy our struggles haha. Seriously though, chameleons need RO mist? I am sure you could get away with tap. ;) haha

This is all you need

And a 12v power supply

I use it and it works great for me. I just put the valve where the water goes into the whole RO unit because if you put it on the output even though water isn't going in the tank it's still going in the RO unit and it still creates waste water (at least mine does).

Okay that looks good Fortunato, but my reason for 2 solenoids was the waste water problem burning out the ro membrane.. Also that's a lot of brass I thought it would give off some contaminants after a while, given there are loads of copper in the wall.. The solenoid I'm talking about has mostly plastic a better choice for less contaminants in the long run..

They can't have the chlorine so RO is the better choice, also ultrasonic foggers clog and calcify(Is that spelled right) tap water easily. They are very prone to URI's (upper respitory infections) so they need a temp drop down to 75 in the night and a max of 90 in the day, they also need humidity to be in between 55 and 80.. Keeping the type of chameleons that I have is not easy.. Most people that were new with me to chams have killed theirs already.. Asianer still has his...
Keeping panther chams are similiar to keep colors on sps they need really specific pars..
