Not to sound cheap but :) I just went to my local pet shop.... and they said I can put a bulb called "power Glow" into my regular light fixture and it can keep my invertebrates alive. is that correct????? Or should I just upgrade my whole fixture ????

That's not an opinion. It won't be able to support much of anything photosynthetically. If you are looking to keep corals than you need to be able to meet their needs and a good light of the proper output is absolutely necessary. The bulb and fixture you are talking about would be ok on a freshwater or a fish only saltwater tank, not a reef. Whoever it was at whatever store that told you to buy that bulb isn't doing you any favors or they don't know enough themselves to be giving any advice of value.

The cheapest option right now is probably a low grade HO T5 fixture. There are plenty of "just ok" companies out there making them and when you are done with the bulbs they come with you can upgrade to much better bulbs which will give you a big boost but they still won't be anything close to a good fixture with a good reflector and quality ballast.
