Is my LED light good enough for soft corals?

so my tank is currently cycling. I bought a marineland led light 18 inches for a 10 gallon. i was told almost 3 times by different ppl at the lfs that it would be ok for soft corals... like mushrooms and zoos... i read online line someone saying the light wasnt good for any coral... the light takes up all of the tank and seems very bright... u can look it up it's marineland 18 inches led lighting system... it is said the be around 40 watts in total... so i guees it's 4 watts per gallon... i just want to make sure the corals will be okay... i dont need anything fancy for corals.. i just want low end softies and corals like mushrooms that are very hardy....o and i have live rock stacked so when i place the coral it wont be all the way at the bottom of the tank.... itll be like halfway to the top so more light exposure i guess??? my tank has been running for 2 weeks and 4 days... with 6 pounds of lr and 10 pnds of sand... 6 pounds because i dont fill my tank up all the way so really it's like 8 gallons.... so it's only 2 pnds under the 1 pnd per gallon rule... it looks pretty nice also.. pics will come soon

Led lighting system good enough for soft corals?

i have a marineland 18 inch 1st generation led lighting system for my 10 gallon.. it seems very bright and the people at my lfs told me i could use it from low light soft corals like mushrooms... anyways the light is 40 watts in total so i guess it's 4 watts per gallon... which is pretty good i guess... my main concren is that i read a comment online stating how this light is not good enough for corals... and i also read how somone has kept soft corals and xenia in this light.... does it depend on the size of the tank??? my light covers almost all of it.... and the live rock is halfway to the top.. so more light exposure?? i really want to hear your thoughts on this...

tank mesaurments

What is the depth of your tank?
it's a basic 10 gallon... like the ones u see in all the stores... it's a rectangle.. it's 20 inches long... 11 in height or depth... and 9 1/2 inches wide... it's a standard 10 gallon.. i have a pic of it some of my threads.. keep in mind there is live rock about halfway up the tank for more light exposure..

adding new light!!!

hey guys.. sorry for alll the threads... but i now know my marineland leds are not good enough for corals... if i cant exchange them this is my plan.. i have what u call the single strip light for my standard 10 gallon... u can only fit one light... i was thinking of replacing that single flourescent light that 15k with a coralife bulb t5 50/50 on the single hood. and placing on top with the marineland leds...
