which controller does dusk to dawn lighting easier

Does anyone use a controller to turn their lights on and off multiple times during the 24 hour cycle ? could use some help picking out the best controller for this either RFK or the Neptune Aqua Controller ?

The RKL Basic is fine for this function.

how do you get it to turn lights on and off more than once in a day like vho on at 11am off 2pm on 6pm off 8pm?

you just program it. for the ac it would look something like...

If Time > 11:00 HQI ON
If Time > 13:00 HQI OFF
If Time > 15:00 HQI ON etc/

the ac reads down the list when you program it so each command will override the last if they conflict.

Just a thought..it's more ok to turn on/off your actinics although most folks just have them come on/off an hour or half hour before/after their daylight bulbs. You won't want to do that with your 'day' lights whether they are MH's or T'5 bulbs as (supposedly) it will stress your corals badly.

Most any of the controllers can handle what you are asking, it's all in how you program them.

agree just for the dusk to dawn effect main grow lights stay on 7 hours and blues actinics come on and off for the effect .

liking the AC and the simple language to turn things on and off ..may go that route
