I installed my ATO last month and I have a problem. The discharge hose is siphoning water back into my bucket when the sensor shuts off. How can i prevent this from happening?

Is there a backflow preventor for 3/8 hose or a a suction cup to hold the hose out of the water that will fit on my Solana?

thanks for looking

...Dude, do NOT submerge the line going into your sump/tank/fuge or whatever place the water is going into. No need for a hole in the tubing. Just don't let it sit underwater, at all....

That's how I did it.

...Problem is that I cannot secure the hose on that back rim of the Solana. Ever time the pump kicks on the hose shoots out of the tank- that is why I submerged the hose....

I have a Solana. Simple, go to home depot or Lowe's and get what is called a package of zip ties. They are very cheap and made of plastic. The concept is they lock in place and tie around anything. I have my water tube tied to the ATO bracket. Also, in my tank, I have the water tube raised higher than the tank water line, like in an arc, attached to the back stand part of my light.

Anyway, very important, is to break that syphon, This is a MUST.
