I'm looking to hook up my RO/Di setup to the sink, as I live in an apartment and don't really have any other option. I know there's a way to mess with the piping under the sink, but I'd rather just use a faucet adapter.

What do you apartment dwellers use?
Thanks

ok pay close attention, most of these things you can get them at home depot.
I am placing links so you can see what they are, as well as the pictures here but for more details click links. I AM NOT ENDORSING THESE COMPANIES, is just for the purpose of description.
This enable you to install this under your sink, whether bathroom or kitchen (mine is in the bathroom which is closer to the tank).

first is a T 3/8 on both end with a reducer 1/4 which will be your supply line to the RO/DI.
Second, is a valve (does not matter if you have auto shutoff) you always want the choice of being able to shut the water supply to your RO/DI manually.
Last but not least, is the Drain Saddle, this is for your waste water line, you install this on your drain, drill where the whole for the line is and insert the line there.

Everything will be out of sight. I will post pics of mine when I get home today.
PM if any Questions.

That's the way to do it. The T on the water inline is very standard. On the wastewater to the drain you have choices. I have mine under the kitchen sink and have the wastewater going into a T above the T for the dishwasher drain.
I suggest going to a plumming supply store rather than HD. You'll get someone knowledgeable to help you.

I think I read somewhere that the rodi filter funs more efficiently if the water is closer to room temp. If you plumb it into the cold water line won't that mean you can't regulate the temp of the water to the rodi unit?

Oh yeah, the feed line to the RO/DI is 25 Ft long and is inside a very small bucket, inside the bucket I gave a 10 Gal heater at temp of 90 degrees, the water wont get to 90 it will keep it at around 75. (since the water coming from the pipes is around 50's 60's

I think cold water may decrease flow rate a bit but doesn't create any real problem.

If you do a permanent install be sure that you can turn off the feed water. If you just turn off the output from your filter then you will be continually running water through the filter and out to the drain. An option is to us an auto shutoff value. This uses the pressure in the output line to turn off the feed water.

I didn't see any at Lowes last night, but I'll have to take a look at Home Depot. I'm also going to see if there's a plumbing supply store around locally.

No idea why I'm stressing this. It really shouldn't be difficult at all.

The faucet adapter is the easiest thing to hook up and you can either use the rodi or faucet by just flipping the lever. Some faucets do require a second adapter depending on the faucet style.
I've never found one at a Lowes or Home Depot locally, I get mine through the plumbing suppy house (sometimes they need to order it in, take a few days)

I checked Lowes and Home Depot around here, none has anything remotely close. Might as well buy it from Bulkreefsupply like I did or ebay.
