Got this skimmer off of another member. From my searches it looks like an H&S Protein Skimmer A-110-F2000. There is no info on it, but the pump is an Aquabee. Also, just a couple of general questions.

1. Can this be run in the sump at all, or does it HAVE to be external? I don;t have much room under my stand.

2. Not sure how to plumb it. Is the grey vertical tube for the input or output?

3. How is this fed? External pump or gravity?

Thanks, and here are the pics

I dont know what skimmer it is but it can be ran in sump and may actually have to be ran in sump. That black box is the pump for it to make it operate and it looks to me like the pump had been in water in a sump. The grey vertical tube is the output and the pipe that extends above where it tees off is left open as a vent. Where the pipe faces the camera on the first shot you come out of there and put a 90 on it for the water to discharge back down towards the water in the sump. That second fitting above the pump and other grey plumbing Im not sure about am sure others will know, just commented on what I recognized. Also the clear vinyl tube in the second shot is where the air is drawn in by the pump to make the micro bubbles.

Looks like a H&S, they do use Aquabees on the smaller skimmers.

1. Yes, you can place it in the sump if space is an issue.

2. The hose barb sticking out on the side of the body is the water input. Vertical gray PVC is out, the top piece should rotate and act as a gate valve to control water level in the body and foam height.

3. Either will work, I am guessing you need around 2-300GPH.

H & S Skimmer!

Hello,

Listen to Cali Reef. If you have enough room you can easily run this skimmer in your sump. It can either be gravity feed or feed by a separate pump. Personally I'd run it in sump because some times with external skimmer fittings you can get some leakage. When run internally all water just stays inside the sump. There's nothing fun about coming home to water all over your floor  Good Luck on the new skimmer.

Thanks :fish:

Awesome. Thanks for the replies. I am hoping i can shoe-horn this beast into my sump.

I have a RR 40G breeder with a 20G long sump. I will be using a Rio 2500 return pump

The breeder has 1" bulkheads. Do you think that is enough to gravity feed the 2-300GPH?
