So, I was playing around with my biocube moonlights and I seemed to realize something about the blue LED's. So LEDs emit a very direct light path, unlight flouros, or MH's. If you can utilize this to offset the angle of exposure (twisting the moonlight angle, or LED angle), you can create a shimmer effect off the refractation off the surface liquid/water barrier.

In summary, people who use supplemental LED lighting, try to see if creating and angle with the light on the water benefits shimmering.

Likewise, direct light will probably impact growth better, but if shimmer is your apetite, give it a shot.

Anyone else who has comments on this, I appreciate it.
