calcium reactor question?

anyone thought or using fresh water for the calcium reactor feed line.
because if usinf fresh water feed with a PH of 7.00 you would use much less CO2 for the reactor,isn t true??

Eli,
In genera, the water flow through the Ca reactor is much higher than evaporation. In my 100 gal tank full of SPS, I required a flow rate of about 70 cc/min. this is way higher than the evaporation rate of 2 gal/day. That is the reason why using fresh water to top off each day doesn't work with the Calcium reactor.
