Hello all I have a 300 gallon DD marine land tank with a 125 sump 2 mag 18s bring the water from my sump to the display tank. I recently upgraded my skimmer to a e.t.s.s. 1000 with an iwaki 100 pump. I bought The skimmer used skimmer looks great I let it soak in vinegar for a couple of hours and then cleaned it I took all the existing bio balls out a put some that I had. There were about 35 bio balls in the skimmer originally. I've read on other posts that I need 55. So I put 55 in. I fired up the skimmer and the first night I had no problems. The second night it overflowed a little bit I have a 5 gallon Catch can for the skimmer. The second night which was Thursday I adjusted the skimmer a little bit I was getting too wet of a scim and wanted to dry skim. About 2 AM Thursday night I get woken up to the sound of my return pumps gasping air. My 5 gallon catch can was overflowing and the floor was soaking wet I lost about 40 gallons of tank water I added more water reset the skimmer left for a couple hours skimmer looked fine came back a couple hours later and the skimmer was overflowing again. Stayed home to degration of yesterday skimmer level was low looked last night before I went to bed skimmer level was low again I woke up this morning with an overflowing 5 gallon bucket again and 40 gallons of water on my floor please help anybody who's had the skimmer before

I don know if there sight is still up there are directions on there
This skimmer need to have the water level set way low 1 inch over the top of the black box. It will take some time to kick in. I ran the bio balls 8 inches from the top of the chamber . Hope this helps
