So ive been waiting for the vertex alpha cone 300 to come back out for the last year ive owned the 200 before and love the skimmer very well built and well worth them money the alpha 200 was on my old system which was 250 gallons .I now have 450 gallons with a heavy bioload .and I dont know how much longer I am willing to wait for the alpha 300 to come back out so I am thinking about going with the bubble king supermarine 250 or 300 .what would u guys do .a few people ive spoke to recommended the bubble king 250 so that were im leaning towards now

If you're really willing to spend serious $ on a skimmer, the Bubble King is a Ferrari. I'm not going to get into a debate of if it's "worth it" or not, but the BK's are just ... well they are awesome. Worth it is a matter of what you're willing to spend.

Compared to a Vertex...I think hands down the BK wins. Better skimmer AND better support. Vertex is serviced by Proline Aquatics, who suck. BK goes right to RE or to RE via Premium Aquatics, and you can talk to the owner of the company so... yeah. The BK is more $, depending on the model, only 10-15% more, but if you're already into the 1000$ skimmer land...

I have the Bubble King Double Cone 180 with the DC Red Dragon pump...it's not a skimmer, it's a tank - not a fish tank - a German main battle tank. Silent too. I thought it wasn't running at first, then I saw the bubbles :)

Yes I have heard getting parts can suck .but now I heard what jedi said that premuim aquatics is the us dealer for bubble king which I have to say they are top notch I deal with them alot .ahould I go with the 250 or 300 bubble king ?

Talk to Jeremy at Premium. (via RC or otherwise, you'll see I've posted in the Official Bubble King owner thread more than once) He will size the BK exactly to your needs. He will go so far as to tell you a SMALLER - and thus cheaper - skimmer if that's what is appropriate for your tank/bioload. He's not in the habit of up-sizing a skimmer to make a buck. I like people like that.

Also, Royal Exclusiv is opening a warehouse/center in Florida, so it will be even easier to get parts for them. But yeah, Premium carries everything. I had a broken nozzle in shipping, he sent me a replacement no questions asked.

I'm cleaning out my BK tonight, been a while. You can totally strip it down in a few minutes and get every piece of gunk out. Woot.
