Hello,

I'm planing my system and I need opinions on suitable return pumps [I would like to get a 2nd one for backup]. I have been away from the hobby for about 10 years, so I do not know what exactly is out there, and what the correct gph rate should be for a 200g display.

So far I've managed to locate the Diablo DC pump series; I like the DC-5500 and the DC-10500. I think the DC-3500 would be a little under powered for this purpose so I have not ruled it in. Here are the specs of all 3 pumps:

MODEL.....MAX GPH.....MAX HEAD.....GPH AT 6FT.....RATED POWER

3500...........925............9ft.............. ~600.............30 watts
5500..........1450..........10.5ft............~1200...........50 watts
10500.........2775..........16.4ft............~2500...........85 watts

Im currently setting up a 200g display tank. I ordered the jebao DC12000. I'm pretty sure its way more gph that I need but got it anyway just incase i want to plumb my reactors, chiller, etc

Personally id get a dart or simular, darts are a lower wattage pump and are proven to last for ever, also take into consideration if you plan to feed reactors ect from the return pump
