Is a mat needed under the tank?

I just received my Artisian II Cadlights 100g tank.

My question is:

Is it better to have something in between the tank and the stand such as a layer of cork/rubber or is it better to let the tank set right on the stand.

put it right on the stand, most tank manufacturers don't recommend it.

If you are using a cadlights stand as well I would ask them for a suggestion. You wouldn't want to set the tank up in a way that would void any warranty.

Now if you are using a different stand, and the bottom of the tank is rimless (no plastic trim), then I have seen people use styrofoam between the stand and tank. Cork I assume would work as well.

Might want to ask cadlights for suggestions either way.
