Reef flo pump wont start

my return pump would not re start - i tapped the back shaft (per manual) and it re started -

Is it time to replace the seals or is it another issue?

it may need a cleaning...I clean mine every six months. The seals and spring holding them get a scrub with hot water and an old toothbrush removing any deposits, detris etc.... . Do you hear any grinding noise coming from it?.....bearings?
