Cleaning Water Holding Buckets

I have a question about using dish washing soap to wash old salt buckets to use to hold top off water? Can it be done w/o any adverse consequences?

Sure why not. Just rinse them out good. Shouldn't be a issue.

I wouldn't use soap, it could leave a residue. I use white distilled vinegar and warm water to clean everything related to my tanks.

Cleaning Buckets

I was tempted to was them w/Dawn dish detergent because that's what they use on birds in oil spill, lol. White vinegar it is and a warm water rinse.
