melted my tunze impellers :(

I usually do a muriatic acid bath on my pumps every 4-6 months.
1/3 muriatic acid + 2/3 water. I had more junk on them this time, so this time I did a 50/50 bath. When looking them over this AM, I noticed that (5 of my 6) 6200's impellers had crumbled :banghead:

anyone ever have this happen to them?

Ouch, sorry man. I have used a diluted muriatic acid bath for my powerheads before without these results. sounds like the 50/50 was too much.

Ouch.. that sucks man. I use a vinegar and hot water mix to clean my power heads and haven't had any issues (yet anyway).

I've had these pumps since the 6200 came out..

Hydors magi clean stuff works great also. But I also have always used just vinegar/warm water to clean powerheads.
