I have a sea chill teco tr20 chiller. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get it checked out and repaired? The display board which I believe is also the thermostat isn't working properly but I don't want to spend money buying replacement parts unless that's really all that's wrong with it.

Thanks,

Adam

I've actually researched this a lot bc buying used chillers when u don't know what to check is tricky. Ppl love selling non working chillers as "working" chillers.

#1 call the manufacturer and find out what parts are involved and if still available. Your display board could be separate from the internal thermostat. You could be facing a cheap and easy repair

#2 if your parts are no longer available, using a drop in thermostat like the Ronco two ways will help u, the Ronco controller will turn the chiller on and off for you, just ignore chiller on board display.

#3 if your chiller is not cooling in addition to the display issue then get the compressor checked by a local HVAC company, easier to find shop that services restaurant equipment or find a store that sell refurbished refrigerators.

A new compressor and freon could cost you less then $250 and u would have a nearly new chiller.

Those controllers are plug and play. You would plug your chillers male 3 prong into the controller female plug.

Drop the thermostat in your sump or overflow, connect the other power cord of the controller and create your settings to turn on at a certain temp and turn off at a certain temp.

Call the manufacturer and ask the parts department to help u troubleshoot

Ahh I see first disable the internal one. Didn't think of that! Then the chiller is stuck in the on position once powered unless it has a controller. Do you know why they say not to use any chiller unless it has been sitting upright for 48 hours after shipping. Some manufacturers say tt will void warranty as well.
