defective frag racks in my tank

I bought these at brs and one elsewhere and after cleaning my tank and trying to find out why my corals where not happy I found that the magnets where all bubbled and corroded and rusted I have removed them and just want to alert you guys to check your magnets on any item and if not in use take them out like the glass cleaners luckily those have held up..

My did as well and all the magnet powder came out... I bought mine on ebay from a good co, I'll check the name later

I have had rusting neodymium magnets in my tank for years now with no ill effects. It does suck, though, that they bubbled on you like that, because that rack is not cheap.

yeah glad you guys already addressed the issues too bad they didn't do a recall since they are made to hold fresh frags and the last thing they need is stress. and yeah I have 4 racks over 100 bucks and 2 of them are like this . bummer there goes 50 bucks hope they replace them.

these where bought in 2010 but i have 2 others and they are fined buy them they are nice and probably redesigned ..

Can you maybe encase the exposed magnets in silicone or epoxy or something?

if is falling apart breaking from within corroded the magnet is compromised .
