I recently bought 2 koralia magnum 8 circulation pumps for my 240 gallon fowlr tank. i believe there is too much flow in my tank from these pumps. a good friend of mine suggested 4-koralia 4 pumps. i believe this to be good sound advice but i was just curious to hear what others opinions were. i will be replacing whatever pumps with 2 mp40's in the near future just dont know how near. so i am looking to see what i could get bye with until then. all suggestions would be greatlly appreciated

IMO, u won't know until u try. If it's an LPS & softy tank it may be a bit much but if I already had them, I'd definitely go for it. IMO K4's are 2 small for a 240. I know people with 8ft tanks and use K8's with no issues whatsoever on heavily loaded SPS tanks.

I have a K3 (1050gph) on a frag tank that is roughly 8 gallons or so and I've had mainly SPS with some LPS, gogonians & zoos. Frag tank is 26"x8"x9".

I also had a 92g corner tank with (3) K4's and a few Maxi-Jet 1200's behind my rockwork with a Blueline 55 external return pump (1100gph pressure rated) going into 2 spraybars in my DT and that was definitely not too much flow.

Best of luck

EDIT.... I just realized that u have a FOWLR.... i still can't see an issue unless your fish r getting slammed into rock.
