In trying to figure out the lighting for my new tank I am considering VHO.

I purchased a brand new Chinese VHO ballast that had good reviews and will be considering 2 used ice caps 660.

I need to test the 3 ballasts to ensure all 3 work.

WHO HAS OLD VHO BULBS AND CAN LOAN THEM TO ME FOR A WEEK OR TWO TO PERFORM A TEST. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU HAVE PUT 100,000 HOURS ON THEM, THEY JUST NEED TO LIGHT UP.

ANYONE IN NJ THAT HAS OLD BULBS SOMEWHERE IN A CORNER THAT CAN LOAN THEM OUT?

I need 4 bulbs to test each ballast properly and efficiently.

aaaaaaa, I was trying out some VHO ballasts that I was considering buying, they were used and needed to test them.

I am kind of missing the spectrum of T5's, can't get the proper coral flourescence with VHO's, I keep playing with diff bulbs but nothing.

Ice Cap 660s can also run T5s...but the Chinese might not, and could overheat the bulbs. If you've been testing with used VHO bulbs, you're probably not getting the 'true' colors for comparison

I was testing used icecaps 660's with t12 end caps but opted to buy a new ballast instead.

I found an online store Reef Optics Lighting. Sold me a VHO ballast new with 1 year warranty and threw in 8 end caps free of charge all for $70.00 and its working just fine and I sleep better knowing it's new.

My comment about spectrums is my current dilemma. I am using all brand new bulbs that I purchased in the last 3 weeks. Only the blue led moonlights that I have seem to compare to T5 flourescence.

New VHO ballast and new bulbs, I'll guess I will keep playing with different bulb configurations until I get the look I am looking for.
