I picked up an RKE and I am trying to add the NET module to it. I have updated everything to the latest firmware versions for each module. The issue is intermittant ability to login to it. I can sometimes get the home page to show up but that's as far as I get. Ready to do the UNHAPPY dance on this POS right now.

ANY help would be appreciated!

Holy SH** what a PITA! I'd say I'm pulling my hair out but I don't have any. I cannot figure out what it is and at this point I think it's going back to DA. Maybe the good deal I got on the RKE isn't as good as I thought. At least with Jeremy's APEX I could see the friggin' thing from his local intranet. I can't even do that.

I've had pretty good results with my RKE-NET, it's a pretty good product. I only have had fear with the past updates, as they required full system reset, and I have 16 channels of settings to program.

If you want to access it from outside your house, you might have to call your ISP to have them open up a port on their modem. In my case (cablevision), I had to order the 'boost feature" which allows for port 80 and 25 to be opened.
In reality, I do not make any remote changes, and for me, after using it remotely for a while, I am not sure if it's worth it the additional charge from the ISP

I am not sure if you need the ports to be opened, if you are just looking for the rss feed? Maybe someone else reading this could chime in...

I know nothing about the product but it should give you the option to set it to 8080 which is unprotected. Why does it use the SMTP port? It accepts email? If it doesn't give you the option to change the port (first we go smack the crap out of the developers) tou can set up a web server on port 8080 and have it redirect on your machine to 80. it should work without the extra charges.
