T5 or LEDs for a 57 g rimless deep blue?

Visually LEDs are the best IMO!
But on growth t5 or MH seem to be the favorite....... IMO...... Which is one year worth of experience lol ;-)

t-5's offer more color options, and your tank can thrive with them. Led's are Great, but expensive, and less color options, led's offer that shimmer like a halide gives. I have the acan led's and work great on my 75 gallon tank

As a matter of fact I ordered a 6 bulb tek light from saltwater critters for my 57g rimless.
Might add some LEDs to the fixture ;-)

just got the same tank and having the same issue on lighting, been reeding alot of forums on here and some of the neg of t5 is electricity bill vs the led cost/coral thrive (higher quality/cost=higher coral growth). so i really want leds for looks on the rimless but cant afford the spread i need for this tank due to being layd off, so my research starts for d.i.y. led project

if you have a rimless tank why go with DIY ! it never looks good ! unless you skills and tools to built some super nice looking !!

I saw an nice 57 gallon rimless setup at a LFS with an LED setup and it looked amazing. Corals looked like they wer happy too!!

6 bulb t5 is the only light I'll reccomend for that tank. That's what I had and I loved it. The only thing LEDs offer is a blue shimmer....is it worth twice the price? No. If you really want the shimmer, well then eventually add a reef brite. That will pierce through A 6 bulb t5 and add a shimmery look. That's also what I did... It was perfect
