Reef Magnets

Anyone ever use magnets to mount frags on the glass? I see reef-magnets.com has some, but i cant imagine forking out ten bucks for one magnet. Has anyone tried any from home dpot or another local store like michaels or something? Anyone know of any that are reef safe? Successes, failures?

I used one of those magnet mounts and it scratched my tank glass bad! Lesson learn. Don't try to move it around although you could do it using the magnet from outside.

I got the one from DR F&S. Seems fine to me. i didnt move it along the glass. i got no scratches.

The price is decent for a retail product.

Depending on the weight of the frag you can sometimes use ICGel to mount frags, especially on your overflows. Zoas mount quite easily.
